Christopher J. Frericks was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. After graduating high school, he served four years in the U.S. Army in aviation and military intelligence. Chris then made the most of the G.I. Bill and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Illinois State University while working full-time jobs. After college, he attended law school at Southern Illinois, where Chris graduated with honors, also while working to support himself. Chris then returned to the Peoria area to represent the community that has supported him throughout his life.
